We've dedicated the summer to wallowing in E-Commerce topics.
To stay in touch and never miss any updates, you'll want to get these emails:
We are all actively creating and crafting fabulous artwork, and working hard to find our ideal target customers. Whether we participate in in-person retail markets or shows, or focus on an e-commerce presence, we all have created a footprint on the internet as a part of our marketing efforts. And it can be such an incredible tool to reach and create a community of loyal followers who hopefully become engaged and loyal customers.
Some of us have created our own websites and own our domain names, and others have utilized a combination of Etsy and other social media tools to be the on-line face of our brands.
We've got the product, the pricing, the images and photography, and the marketing programs in place.
"If you build it -- "they" will come."
But how will those fabulous customers actually FIND you and your product in the sea of e-commerce and social media noise?
It's all about being unique for sure. It's a lot about your message and your brand. It's gotta be about the product and the offer. And, the reality is that it's also about SEO (search engine optimization). Can't get away from that unfortunately.
But it's not as mysterious or difficult as it might seem. There are some core basics that you can tackle without any technical programming skills or even much time.
We pulled some of the basics together for you....
About the Event
Yesterday, we had our monthly Meet-Up and our Hot Topic for the event was all about SEO Strategies for Makers.
I wanted to say thank you to both Stephanie Peters and Ryan Walsh for taking the time to help share their experience and knowledge with the group. They are both members of the collective and wanted to help out.
Turns out that we didn't have quite enough time to get through all the material. Not ideal I know. I think maybe we tried to cover a bit too much and just didn't have the flow of the discussion worked out with two speakers at once. But - all was not lost. It's a learning process for us.
I know I learned a lot from the discussion and feel more comfortable with what is mandatory and doable for SEO - and have a few lingering questions.
The good news is that both speakers were more than willing to take calls/messages to help members with specific questions. That's a very generous offer.
We also talked about doing a follow-up workshop where we just sit down and work through a few live examples for a few members - more on that soon. Please let us know if you are interested in getting some of that hands-on in-person guidance -- just send us an email or give us a call.
